I love to paint so to be sure I always end up with a professional look there are a few tools I cannot live without. Why spend so much money on a good quality paint if you don’t invest in some good tools to be sure it’s done correctly.
The first item I love is Frogtape. This stuff is awesome! It leaves a clean line and doesn’t bleed. You can pick up a roll between $5.00- $10.00 depending on the size.
My favorite paintbrushes are Purdy brushes. I only use my Purdy brushes with latex paint, never with oil based due to the sheer fact that cleaning oil based paint from a brush takes a little more work than latex does. Don’t get me wrong, you can get oil based paint out of a brush but it involves mineral spirits and a little bit of time. I don’t mind the time but I do hate the smell of mineral spirits so if I’m using oil based paints I am usually using a roller or a paintbrush I don’t mind throwing away. Purdy brushes range in price from $10.00-$20.00.
And last but not least my favorite all-in-one tool is a 6-in-one tool. You will definitely get a lot of use out of this. See the pic below courtesy of Condo Blues to understand what the 6 “tools” are. I have used mine many times over on different projects around the house. Get one, you won’t regret it. You can pick one up for less than $10.00.
These are a few of my favorite painting tools…what are some of yours?
