I love to repurpose broken and unwanted items into something useful and beautiful so when I was brainstorming my next project I knew I could make something great from the old chairs in my basement. Thankfully my handsome son Chase was up for the job of breaking them down for me.
After they were broken down I could envision what I wanted to make from the black chair pictured below.
I found an old cork board and shaped it to fit the chair back. I also added a chair spindle and an old wooden napkin holder as an embellishment to make it purty! I love repurposing chair parts, the spindles can be used so many different ways and the seats could be cushioned and made into a stool. The possibilities are endless, all you need is some elbow grease and a little imagination.
I love the finished cork board and it will be for sale when I set up as a vendor at Southern Charm at the Farm in Walnut Cove, NC on October 10th.
Now to find more chairs to break down and repurpose into something beautiful and useful.
