Whenever I can go thriftin’ and also know my money is going to great cause at the same time, I jump at the chance to shop there. Lots of churches and outreach programs now-a-days have their own thrift stores where the community can purchase great items while helping fund their outreach ministries. West End Ministries Thrift Store is one of them. Located in High Point, NC, this store helps fund many programs within their community such as Leslie’s House, Kid’s Café, Boys and Girls Club and much more.
Here is a snippet from their website-
The Thrift Store is located on the West End Ministries campus at 871 English Road. Items that are available for purchase include household items, furniture, clothing and toys. All of the proceeds that are collected through the Thrift Store benefit the WEM programs. In 2010 the Thrift Store contributed over $64,248.00 to West End Ministries programs. The Thrift Store is open on Tuesday – Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
When you enter the thrift store you are always greeted with a smiling face and plenty of great “junk” to hunt through.
They have a lot of glass and stem ware in various shapes and sizes at awesome prices along with great older table settings.
If you are need of fabric, patterns or thread…this is the place to find it. Each week you will find something different.
The books are at an extra low price and they have a great selection to choose from.
This was just one bookcase of probably 8 or 9 they have in the store. I am always able to find a good cookbook or 2 every time I visit this place.
You can also find some very vintage and eclectic furniture here.
I’m always finding something I want to drag home every time I visit.
If you’re ever in High Point, NC and want to buy some awesome “junk” at a great price for a great cause. This is the place!
