Part 2 of my foyer makeover is finally done…well, maybe. Check back in a few months to see if I made any changes. We started with off-white dingy walls and absolutely no character whatsoever in the space. We moved into our home right before Christmas so the only bit of décor in the foyer was my Christmas tree and a few paint samples. Not much to look at.
I wanted some sort of a console table but didn’t have the money to shell out for one. Being a creative person, I don’t necessarily need to buy something if I can build it or re-purpose another item to create what I need.
The dining table I used in my previous home wasn’t being utilized and to be honest I was just tired of looking at it so I thought I’d take off the top and use the base as my table.
I adore the base and love the chippy goodness of the design.
I painted it white almost 8 years ago and sanded the edges to add some dimension along with painting the “leaf” detail brown.
Instead of painting the top I covered it with a burlap coffee bean sack. I just split the bag open and laid it right on top of the table. I may do something a little “nicer” to it later but for now, it’ll work.
And now for the accessories and embellishments…
