Hello, Summer! Here in the south, North Carolina to be exact, we experience high temps even in the spring so summer being here doesn’t mean too much to us but it does signal the start of tomato sandwiches being on the menu in every NC household along with an ice-cold glass of sweet tea. Along with the changing seasons and an abundance of garden fresh tomatoes at the ready comes adding more colorful pieces into my home. Farmhouse decor often gets accused of being very bland…nothing but gray, white, cream, beige and the occasional pale blue. But don’t be afraid to add a pop of color in your home, life is too short to be monochromatic. Yellow is a wonderful color to use in any decor, especially farmhouse decor. Just a little pop of yellow can make a drab room feel very cheerful and bright!

Here are a few pics of little pops of yellow I have incorporated into my decor with a few thrifted items.
Don’t be scared to add some color to your space. I don’t like to invest a lot of money in my accessories since I change them out from season to season. I like to find those items at yard sales and thrift stores and invest more money into great pieces of furniture.
So how about you? Do you like to change your accessories with the seasons?
