By a show of hands, who loves a piping hot cup of “java” every morning? Me, me and especially me! But who loves to spend $5.00 a pop for that caffeine jump start each day? Not me, not me, and especially not me! That’s why I had to carve out a small piece of real estate in my kitchen for a much needed coffee bar.
As you can see by the pic below, my “coffee bar” was a little lacking. No color, no character and definitely no personality. I knew I had to use some imagination along with a little paint, burlap and a new Keurig to make it my modern farmhouse coffee bar.
There was just enough of Benjamin Moore’s Newburyport Blue HC-155 paint left over from a different project to do what was needed to paint the cabinets.
I took all of the doors off and painted everything but left the back of the cabinets unpainted since I would be installing removable burlap panels to accent the blue paint.
Upon visiting the local dollar store, I purchased foam board and, since I would be wrapping them with burlap, I cut them slightly smaller to compensate for the thickness of the material.
To make it easier to remove, in the event I get tired of looking at the burlap and want to change it, I simply taped the burlap to the foam board.
With a couple of the burlap sacks I had lying around, I had curtains made from them and hung them underneath with small tension rods.
I am so in love with my new white Keurig. I think it really freshens up my coffee bar and you can never go wrong with crisp, classic white.
I am thrilled with my new and improved coffee bar! So how about you, do you have your own “caffeine station” set up in your home?
