As I was browsing the aisles of my local Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago for a Magnolia swag to go around my front door, I was shocked at the prices. Magnolia swags ranged from $59.99 – $129.99! Really!? Once I picked myself up off the floor, I knew I could make one for an extraordinary less amount!
There are are 4 beautiful Magnolia trees in my backyard from which I chose some gorgeous branches to use in my swag. To bind the branches together I purchased floral tape at my local dollar store and I also used small nails to attach the swag to the door frame.
Due to the weight of the branches, I created my swag in sections. First section up, looking good!
I just had to snap a pic of my fur-baby, Bruiser.
He loves to be my design assistant when I work on my DIY projects.
My thoughts are to keep this up through Fall and Winter and to add small touches to it to go with the upcoming holidays.
We’ll see how long it lasts and how much of it’s beauty is retained over the next few months.
Do you have swags around your doors?
Do you prefer faux or the real deal?
