Welcome to my Christmas, my Style… an open collaboration hosted by Cathryn @ Amateur Decorating Like A Pro on YouTube.
My Christmas, My Style 2018
Cathryn is hosting four open collaborations for the month of November called “My Christmas, My Style 2018” and for this first open collaboration she asked us to show our Christmas style either through a DIY, haul or by decorating an interior space in our home for Christmas and I chose to do an easy DIY with items I already had on hand.
diy Ornament Garland
- command hooks
If you’re anything like me you probably have a few dozen ornaments in storage containers that you haven’t touched in a while and those are the perfect ones to use to transform into a show-stopping holiday decor piece.
You’ll want to measure the area where you want to hang your garland but you don’t want to measure the area straight across. Instead you’ll want to leave some slack and measure the area exactly the way you intend to hang your garland.
Next you will take one of your washers and twist it onto one end of your wire. This will keep your ornaments from falling off the wire while you string the ornaments. You can sit down to do this but I found it easier to stand while I added the ornaments.
My garland ended up using about 70 ornaments and measured 2 feet 9 inches.
I used command hooks to attach my garland to the wall and I am in love with how it turned out.
