You know the Army slogan, “We do more before 9 am than most people do all day”.  Well, I can say I live that slogan at least 5 days out of the week.  Thanks to my personal trainer sister-in-law, Stephanie.  So join me on my morning routine…

Mountain Chicks…

My sister-in-law, Stephanie, and I spent a great weekend in the mountains.   It was 50 hours of fun!!!  No kids, no husbands, just the two of us in the High Country of North Carolina.  We started our weekend away with a delicious breakfast at The Boone Bagelry.  It was absolutely wonderful!  The staff was really nice and the bagels were delish.  If you ever make it to Boone, NC you must stop there for a bagel.

It’s {Almost} Fall Ya’ll…

I adore Fall. The leaves turning brilliant colors, the smell of wood burning, not to mention Halloween and Thanksgiving.  And speaking of food…Krispy Kreme is introducing some new doughnuts.  They look awesomelicious…wait…what?  Anyway, they look good!

‘Nuff said…

And now a word from Krispy Kreme-

Krispy Kreme has two new delicious doughnuts in time for the fall — Apple Spice Cake and Caramel Apple Cobbler! You’ll think you’re back in Mom’s kitchen with these limited-time doughnuts, available until October 3.

Our Apple Spice Cake is a delicious traditional cake doughnut made with real apples and complementary spices, including cinnamon. Our Caramel Apple Cobbler is a yeast-raised doughnut filled with sweet, tree-ripened apples and a smooth caramel icing and crunchy oat topping.

Christmas In July And Chocolate Dipped Ice Cream Cones…

I love “window shopping”, especially after work.  Sometimes I just get the urge to go out and browse the stores.

Well, today my son and I went to Garden Ridge and this is what we found..

Is it just me or do the stores rush the holidays?  Don’t get me wrong, I know that companies have to get their merchandise in the stores early but seriously…it’s 95 degrees outside and stores are hanging up ornaments and playing Jingle Bells!!  But there’s also a part of me that gets the warm fuzzies and can’t wait for the holidays to get here!!

How cute are these ornaments?

Too bad I don’t have any daughters, these would make a beautiful Christmas tree.

We came across these pedestals and Tre’ had to do a little posing.

Tre’- The Thinker!!

The resemblance is uncanny!!!

After “Christmas Shopping”, we headed to Mickey D’s for a Chocolate Dipped Cone…. MMMMMMMMMMMM

Have you tried these?  They are soooooooooo good and for only $1.49, you can’t beat the price.

Thanks for tagging along!!  See ya next time…

Weekend Round-up…

Hey Everyone!  How was your Valentine’s Day weekend?  Here in the Junkin’ house we had a busy one.  Not only is it Valentine’s Day but my youngest son’s B-day.  Tre’ turned 15 today.  Where does the time go??  Anyway, without further ado here is my weekend in pictures.

Saturday started off with a couple inches of snow…Spring where are you???

Next we stop for a delicious breakfast.

A short stack with bacon does the trick for Tre’.

Next, were off to my favorite little store- Melvin’s.

Don’t ya love vintage tablecloths?  You can buy these by the yard.

I LOVE LOVE this large Ball jar.  Perfect for lots and lots of flour!

And today is Tre’s b-day (he’s my Valentine Baby) …I am no cake decorator so thank goodness it tasted great.

I think I caught him mid bite…

A new phone for the b-day boy

My oldest son, JR, gets trampled by the dogs.  He doesn’t live at home so when he visits, the dogs go wild!!

And that’s my weekend in pics…hope yours was just as fun!!

Goodwill, Great Deal…

I absolutely LOVE going to Goodwill.  I can always find a great bargain. I have been looking for an oversized mirror to re-do and I finally found one!!!  And for only $6.99.  I actually spent $13.00 in total at Goodwill and have posted the pics below.  I LOVE JUNKIN!!!  Enjoy!!

A little dusty, but nothing a little elbow grease won’t cure.

A cute basket just in time for Valentine’s Day.

A small brass candelabra…now to find candles to fit it.

I love these plates.  I am trying to collect different ones to hang on the wall in my dining room.

Okay…the art work on this tray is awful…but it’s nothing a little spray paint wont fix!!

Hope you all had a great weekend and found some great deals!!!
